SmartThings specifications

SmartThings Hub
The “brain” of the SmartThings platform, the Hub connects all of the different sensors around your home or office so that you can receive notifications about what is going on and use your smartphone to remotely control your home’s security, energy usage, lighting, and more.

SmartThings

SmartSense Motion Sensor
The SmartSense Motion sensor lets you know when movement is detected in a certain area of your home and can trigger different actions in response to that movement. Set lights to turn on and off as you come and go; and protect your home by triggering lights, sirens, and other electronics to turn on if there’s unexpected motion in your home. The sensor can also detect temperature and trigger smart thermostats, window A/C units, or portable heaters to automatically adjust as people come and go. Place the motion sensor on a table or shelf, or use the included mounting plate and screws to place it on a wall.

SmartSense Moisture Sensor
Prevent small leaks from becoming costly disasters with this ZigBee device by getting instant alerts on your smartphone when moisture is detected in areas where it doesn’t belong. By placing this wireless ZigBee sensor in areas of your home that are prone to leaking (such as a basement, near a water heater, under an old pipe, or in a bathroom), you can receive an immediate alert on your smartphone at the first sign of excess moisture and prevent a minor headache from causing major damage. In addition to water, the SmartSense Moisture sensor can also measure temperature.

SmartSense Open/Closed Sensor
By placing the sensor on a door or window, you can receive immediate alerts if things open or close unexpectedly. You can also place the sensor on a drawer, cabinet, safe, or jewelry box to monitor and secure the inside of your home and protect children and others from accessing dangerous or off-limit areas. The Open/Closed sensor can also detect temperature and trigger smart thermostats or portable heating and cooling units to automatically adjust if temperatures fluctuate. The sensor comes with both adhesive tape as well as a mounting plate and screws for easy installation.

SmartSense Temp/Humidity Sensor
Extreme temperatures and humidity levels can freeze pipes, create leaks, encourage mold, and cause thousands of dollars worth of damage. Protect your home and belongings by monitoring the temperature and humidity levels in any room of your home and receive immediate alerts if the climate fluctuates to unsafe or undesirable levels. The Temp/Humidity sensor includes both adhesive tape as well as a mounting plate—allowing you to place the sensor on the ground, near a household item, or on the wall.

SmartPower Outlet
Turn any regular three-prong outlet into a smart, controllable power outlet by plugging in this portable ZigBee device. Control and automate lamps, electronics, and small appliances directly from your smartphone—wherever you are. There’s no wiring or complicated setup needed.

SmartSense Presence Sensor
The SmartSense Presence sensor lets you receive updates about a person, pet, or object’s location. When the SmartSense Presence comes in and out of the range of the Hub, you can receive notifications on your smartphone. In addition, you can also trigger other SmartThings-compatible devices to perform different actions (e.g., lights to turn on or off, a door to lock or unlock) when people or things come and go.

SmartSense Multi Sensor
Connect the SmartSense Multi to your SmartThings Hub to detect movement, vibration, change in orientation, and temperature. Receive text or push notifications on your smartphone for any number of creative solutions.

SmartSense Motion Sensor
With the SmartSense Motion sensor, you can receive push or text notifications when movement is detected in a certain area whether you’re at home or away. And setting up specific actions to be triggered when motion is or isn’t detected, such as turning your lights on or off, is easy.

FortrezZ Siren Strobe Alarm
This Z-Wave device is fully compatible with SmartThings and emits a loud siren and bright strobe light when unexpected motion, tampering, or entering occurs. Simply pair the siren with any motion or open/close sensor (such as the SmartSense Motion or the SmartSense Open/Closed) and use the SmartThings app to customize which actions should trigger an alarm and immediate notification to you.

First Alert Smoke Detector and Carbon Monoxide Alarm
Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors haven’t changed much in the past 30 years–until now. In addition to emitting a loud siren, the First Alert smoke and carbon monoxide alarm will also send an instant alert to your smartphone so that you can contact family members, neighbors, or the fire department if you’re away. By pairing the alarm with a SmartPower Outlet, smart in-wall switches, or smart bulbs, you can also trigger the alarm to automatically turn lights on when smoke or carbon monoxide is detected and light a path for family members toward an exit.

Aeon Labs Z-Wave Minimote
Paired with SmartThings, the Aeon Labs Minimote acts as an additional wireless Z-Wave controller for your network of smart devices. Allow guests and family members, including kids, to experience the ease, convenience, and fun of a smart home without requiring direct access to a smartphone. The Minimote will also come in handy if you’re taking a call or charging your smartphone in the next room. It’s simple and convenient for everyone to use around the home or outdoors. Get creative by using the Aeon Minimote to quickly trigger up to eight scenarios you’ve set up with SmartThings “Hello, Home” in the SmartThings app. For example, switch your house into “Good Night” Mode with the click of a button.

GE Light & Appliance Plug-and-Control Power Outlet
Control, monitor, and automate your lamps, appliances, and other electronics by pairing this plug-and-control power outlet with SmartThings. The horizontal space-saving module has a standard outlet on either end of it: one is a standard AC outlet and the the other is a controllable Z-Wave AC outlet.

GE Outdoor Light Plug-and-Control Power Outlet
A smart home extends beyond the front door, and with the GE Outdoor Light you can control and automate your outdoor lights directly from your smartphone. Trigger the lights to automatically turn on as you approach the front door at night, or set them to turn off after you leave the backyard. Perfect for grilling season and outdoor living, the GE Outdoor Light lets you focus on family and fun so that you don’t have to wonder whether you bothered to turn lights or electronics on or off. The GE Outdoor Light is a plug-and-control, weather-resistant device that’s housed in a protective black cover and provides a controllable Z-Wave outlet. It can power any incandescent or fluorescent light, as well as small electronics and appliances like outdoor speakers or blenders.
