Under the theme, “Your vision, your story,” the contest aims to celebrate the beauty of individual expression through compelling imagery and videos, encouraging participants to portray their most narratives. With over 3,000 entries received from across the globe, Xiaomi has engaged various social media platforms to promote the thrilling contest.
This year, the awards focus on 10 distinct themes: Fleeting Moment, Portrait, Passion, Anticipation, Growth, Playful, Celebration, Local, Non-human Life, and On the Road. The diverse range of categories offers a wide range of scenarios for Xiaomi users to exhibit their creative prowess.
An innovative addition to this year’s competition is the introduction of a short film section, emphasizing the outstanding cinematic capabilities of Xiaomi smartphones. This unique move sets Xiaomi apart, allowing contestants to dive deeper into storytelling through motion pictures, and aligns with Xiaomi’s endeavor to create innovative devices that merge superior photography and videography capabilities. Entries will be scored by an acclaimed film director Victoria Hochberg, known for directing “Sex and the City”.
Furthermore, Xiaomi’s partnership with Leica has fueled a narrative centered around human emotions in imagery. Encouraging participants to capture moments that strike an emotional chord. As Xiaomi places significance on high-tonality visuals, emphasizing human emotions in the submitted content has been highlighted throughout the competition. This approach not only accentuates the emotional essence of photography but also cements Xiaomi’s brand image in the domain of visual storytelling.
The best photograph will be rewarded with a creative fund of $5,000 and a new Leica Q3 camera. The top winner of the short film section will be granted a creative fund of $10,000, an opportunity to cooperate with Xiaomi Studios, and the top three winners from each category will embark on an offline launch event tour.
